Email Subscriptions
With any luck, we’re going to have a number of posts coming here in the next few months and, rather than attempting to manage the email list ourselves (which we didn’t do a very good job of last time) we are simply going to post to the blog and allow those who are interested to subscribe either via RSS or via email. To that end, we’ve added an email subscription link to the menu bar on our blog. Subscriptions will be managed via FeedBurner (a free service that provides this sort of thing) and so you’ll see some of their website during the subscription process. For those of you who might be “technology challenged”, I’m providing step-by-step pictures below. If you have troubles subscribing, let us know and we’ll be glad to help. NOTE: these emails are sent once per day… so you there may be a few-hour delay in receiving the notifications. For those of you wanting a more-immediate notification, I recommend subscribing via RSS.
1. Locate and click on the link in the navigation bar:

2. Once you click on it, it will take you to the FeedBurner site to enter your email address. You will need to enter your address, and then enter the randomly-generated passphrase on the screen (yours will look different from mine) and click “Complete Subscription Request”

3. Once you’ve clicked that button, if you’ve done everything right so far, you’ll receive an indication that your request has been accepted along with some follow-up instructions:

4. Next (yes, we are almost there), you need to check the email account that you used to subscribe for a confirmation message. I used a gmail account and therefore mine looked like this:

5. Open that message, and you will need to click the link in the confirmation message

6. You are done! At this point, you are “configured” to receive email notifications any time we post to our blog.
